Indiana Accounting Students Plan to Remain in State after Grad, INCPAS Survey Reveals

The latest Indiana CPA Society Student Survey found that the percentage of students who plan to remain in Indiana after graduation has grown. In his seventh year, the survey is designed by the INCPAS and administered to college students studying accounting. The survey looked at students’ future career plans in accounting and working in Indiana.

The survey found that slightly fewer students planned to take the CPA exam immediately after graduation. Despite the decline, majority of students still believed the exam was valuable to their career and also planned to pursue other designations as well. The percentage of students who reported wanting to become a chief financial officer of a company exceeded the percentage who wanted to make partner in a firm, for the first time since the survey began.
